Joining the BERNINA Sewing Family: My Ambassador Journey
Hello! My name is Terrance Williams, and I am a BERNINA Ambassador and proud owner of quite a few BERNINA and bernette machines, but my pride and joy is the BERNINA 790 PRO! I started my sewing journey all the way back in 2009 when my sister bought me my first sewing machine after I had always been drawing and sketching in my notepads. As someone who was always really into fashion and design, I knew that I wanted to start making my own clothing. Watching fashion shows and pouring over the pages of Vogue, I loved the designs that I saw coming down the runway. Unfortunately, I was a broke college student and couldn’t afford Marc Jacobs and Dior and Burberry, so I’ve decided I was going to make the clothing and accessories and designs myself! It was at this time that I decided to take the sketches that were in my dreams and turn them into a reality. So armed with a brand new sewing machine and gift cards to fabric store, I went in and bought some fabric and supplies and started my sewing journey!
I have since expanded from sewing clothing and accessories for myself to now sewing clothing and accessories for others! I run my small business, Terrance Williams Designs, full-time now. I design and sew ethically sourced and sustainably produced clothing and accessories. Everything is genderless and everything is size-inclusive. It was important for me to create a brand that not only represented me and my personal style but that also respected human rights and the environment. My patterns and designs are little to no waste, they use materials that are sustainable and fabrics that are ethically made and sourced. I create all of my designs using my BERNINA and bernette sewing machine and sergers!
In my BERNINA collection, I have my BERNINA 790 PRO, I also have a BERNINA L 890 serger, along with a bernette 79 sewing machine. And from the archives, I have a BERNINA 1300 MDC serger and BERNINA 830. I use all these machines to run my business and to create clothing for myself. My style is very loud, bright, colorful and expressive! What drives me to create and sew is my belief that clothes and fashion are an extension of ourselves and our personality. I love fabrics that are colorful and vibrant! I love using my BERNINA 790 PRO to create my newest fashion collections and pieces. There’s an ease and creativity that comes with using this machine, and I am so excited to bring you along on my journey as I sew my clothing and accessories. I can’t wait to show you everything I’ll be sewing and bringing my ideas to life with the help of the B 79o PRO.
