Finding Inspiration (and Friends!) at Quilt Market in Houston

Hello Houston!

There’s something magical about Quilt Market in Houston, Texas. The moment I stepped into the convention center, I could feel the energy buzzing. Rows upon rows of color, creativity, and community. Texas has a way of making everything feel big… big smiles, big ideas, and a big love for quilting that fills the whole room.

This year, the quilting community felt more vibrant and diverse than ever. Everywhere I looked, there were fresh fabric lines debuting and clever new notions being demoed. Shop owners were excitedly planning what to bring home to their customers. It’s always such a joy to see familiar faces, meet new friends, and share the spark that keeps us all creating.

At the center of it all… the BERNINA booth! A sea of red that was impossible to miss! A real-life, red carpet moment.

The space was alive with demonstrations and that unmistakable hum of machines at work. Seeing the BERNINA 790 PRO in action again reminded me just how much precision and innovation BERNINA continues to bring to our craft. The Joy of PRO bundle was also a highlight, a thoughtful celebration of everything that makes sewing with BERNINA such a joy.

Friends (In-person)

One of my favorite parts of Quilt Market is always connecting in person with people I’ve collaborated with and admired from afar.

We chatted about creative projects, upcoming goals, and how inspiring it is to be surrounded by so many passionate makers. There’s something special about these friendships that form through fabric, it’s like finding your people in a sea of kindred spirits.

Another wonderful highlight was catching up with Christy and Heather from the BERNINA Education Team.

Me with Christy and Heather, two of the kindest and most knowledgeable BERNINA Educators around. WHY didn’t I wear red?!

Their passion for helping makers grow and explore new techniques is contagious, and every time I see them, I walk away with new ideas (and probably a longer project list!).

Why I Should Have Brought a Bigger Suitcase…

As I left Houston, my bag was full of brochures, samples, and inspiration, but my heart was even fuller. Quilt Market is more than just an event; it’s a celebration of the creativity that connects us. Whether you’re a shop owner, designer, or hobby quilter, it’s impossible to walk away without feeling reenergized for the projects ahead. (Now I just have to clear my fall schedule so I can sew!)

Thank you, BERNINA, for being right at the heart of it all, and for continuing to remind us that the joy of sewing is something best shared together! I can’t wait to see you all again at QuiltCon in 2026!
